As an editor of books and other published works, Jennifer loves helping writers, authors, and world-changers ensure their messages are brilliant, engaging, and accurate. She has served as a book editor for twenty-plus years, first while working in the field of corporate communications and since 2017 as a full-time book editor and president of Words With Jas LLC.

She’s honored to offer editing expertise and warm, caring customer service to authors of nonfiction works with a positive social impact. With a refined attention to detail and a way with words, Jennifer specializes in nonfiction editing, including copyediting, line editing, proofreading, and developmental editing.

Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She lives and works from a restored 1896 home alongside a river that runs through Muncie, Indiana, and she enjoys traveling to visit her adult daughters and their families in other beautiful areas of the country. During breaks between editing, she runs barefoot and writes haiku.

She is passionate about helping writers publish well-written and engaging messages that shift thinking and shift actions to create a better world for everyone.

Jennifer Jas launched Words With Jas LLC in 2017 to help writers and organizations produce books and materials that are brilliant, engaging, and accurate. She has edited more than two hundred published nonfiction books. Before starting her full-service editing company, she served as a freelance editor and proofreader for fifteen years. During that time, she honed her way with words as a communication manager for two large healthcare companies, a corporate spokesperson and communications coordinator for a manufacturing company, and the co-owner of a fitness center. She serves on the board of Women in Business Unlimited and is a member of ACES: The Society for Editing, the Nonfiction Authors Association, and her local Chamber of Commerce.
